Player Bio

Born in London, but having his roots in Jamaica, Daniel Bell-Drummond was touted to be the next big thing by Andy Flower and Rob Key. Drummond has the Caribbean swagger as well as the English composure inherited in his batting style.

The talented batsman emerged from the age-group level to represent England U-19 teams on several occasions before representing the nation in the 2012 edition of the Junior World Cup. Even before the ICC event, Drummond made his first-class debut for Kent. Later that season, he even got the opportunity to make his List-A debut.

Drummond had to wait for two more years before making it into the first eleven. An injury to Rob Key led the youngster to make his Championship debut and played the last two games of the 2013 season. Consistency in the domestic circles meant Drummond’s call-up for England Lions.

In 2016, the potent batsman scored a bundled amount of runs to grab the eyes of the selectors. He scored a fluent 206* against Loughborough MCC University and followed it up with a record-breaking stand of 367 runs versus Sri Lanka A.

The following season, he was handed a contract by Rajshahi Kings for the Bangladesh Premier League. Drummond’s success continued and he bagged a long-term contract with Kent in 2018. The next season saw the dasher’s sublime growth as he scored 987 runs in first-class cricket and had a prolific run in the white-ball formats as well.

In 2021, the Birmingham Phoenix drafted the London-based cricketer into the squad for the inaugural season of 'The Hundred'. Drummond has been performing wonders since the age-group levels but hasn’t been able to break into the national team due to extreme competition up top.
