Player Bio

A tall and muscular opening batsman for the US, Steven Taylor is known for his hard-hitting batting and can clear any boundary at will. One of the youngest players to ever represent the US in men’s cricket, Taylor broke into the national squad for the first time at just 14 years of age and made his full-time debut in 2010 at the tender age of 15.

Three years later, at the age of 18, Taylor became the first US cricketer to score a T20 century when he clubbed 101 runs off 62 balls against Bermuda. One of the rare cricketers from the US to have made a name in T20 franchise cricket, Taylor became the highest-paid franchise cricketer in the country’s history when the Guyana Amazon Warriors paid a whopping $30,000 for him at the 2017 CPL draft.

Taylor’s importance to the team cannot be understated as his ability to win matches for his side has been a part of recent success in US cricket. A part-time keeper in his early days, he gave up keeping to become a handy off-spinner and developed his game to become one of the vital cogs in the current squad.
