Player Bio

Born on September 14, 1956, Paul Allottt is a former England cricketer who marked his presence in international cricket for five years.

Allott earned a national call-up by consistent wickets tally for Lancashire County Club in the domestic circuit.

In his debut Test match against Australia in August 1981, the all-rounder scored 66 runs and took four wickets which played a key role in England securing a victory.

The skillful player featured in his first limited-overs match in February 1982 against Sri Lanka.

In July 1984, he returned with his career-best match figures of 6/85 against New Zealand at Leeds.

A back injury and bad form cut short his career. Subsequently, he made his final appearance for The Three Lions in August 1985.

Allott featured in 26 games across both formats, picked up 41 wickets, and garnered 228 runs.

However, he continued to play for Lancashire and was a part of their illustrious title victories in the next four-five years.

He served as a commentator for Sky Sports until 2017. Later, Allott donned the role of Lancashire’s Director of Cricket but stepped down in 2021.
